Street Chic: 3 Ways to Wear Boyfriend Jeans

I have loved the boyfriend jean trend for going on two years now, although it took a long time to find a pair I actually like. My favorite pair was actually giving to me for Christmas. The problem I had was finding some that slouchy but still fit my waist. Once you hunt a pair down, it is totally worth it!

This is a great casual trend that is really effortless. The trick is making sure you pair these masculine jeans with feminine pieces.

Here are three ways to wear this trend:

1. My way:

My pair are a lighter-wash distressed boyfriend jean from Forever 21. I paired them with a navy blue crochet top that happens to be see-through so I wear a navy blue tank underneath. It’s light and feminine so it pairs well. I also know the crochet trend is popping up everywhere and if you aren’t careful how you wear it, you might look like a doily, so pairing that top with some funky jeans is perfect. Completing the look are my go-to lace-up gladiator sandals (I know I wear them a lot but they are my favorites!) and I chose a southwestern print tote with leather straps to keep the whole ensemble from being bland.

2. The dressy way:

I love this look for an evening out. It’s sophisticated without being too dressy. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone out to a wine tasting on a Friday night in my work blazer, boyfriend jeans and strappy heels. These jeans and heels are like Carrie and Big- they belong together!

3. Dressed down:

This is a total throwback to the nineties which is why I love it. It also looks like its straight out of Kelly Bundy’s closet. This is great for a casual Sunday at the flea market or a weekend pub crawl. Pair these jeans with a plaid shirt wrapped at the waist, a crop-top or even just a vintage band T-shirt or plain white T with aviators and loafers. It’s tres chic!!
