Fall Trend Shopping List

Fall is the easiest season to dress for. Layering, boots and scarfs make any outfit look chic. But of course there are a few new trends every year that are so stylish when incorporated into you basic fall wardrobe. Here are the trends I have on my shopping list, or ones I’ve already bought. This year I didn’t go crazy with wardrobe updates, but I’m hoping my additions will become staple pieces in the future.

1. Neutral plaid

Plaid is always a must for fall, but in past years red plaid has always been big. This year I love the earthy, rugged look inspired by the English farm look. This involves layering wool-lined coats, wrapping up in embroidered scarfs, and mixing prints and plaids. The neutral plaid is impossibly charming when worn in layers and will make even an old farm hand look simply chic.

2. Leather…everything

Leather is breaking out of the bad girl’s closest and onto the runway. It is has become a staple as basic as the white cotton button-up and is even suitable for work these days. The new look of leather is showing up as full skirts paired with cozy knits, as structured dress, as the sleeves on shirts…as everything. I love this trend!

3. Maroon New Balance Shoes

Track shoes and chucks have become a major trend this year. Pair these shoes with skinny jeans and a statement coat for an effortlessly chic and sporty look. I just ordered mine and I cannot wait to rock them out of the gym and onto the streets!

Find them at Lady Foot Locker.

4. Winter Whites

Not only CAN you wear white after Labor Day, but you SHOULD. A crisp, cozy cable-knit sweater in white is as lovely as the falling leaves in autumn hues. This trend is worth the splurge because it is so timeless.

4. Turtle Necks

These aren’t just for your grandma anymore! They have a classic mod appeal and are an affordable basic trend that you can pair with jeans, or a skirt and tights to look on trend in a matter of minutes. I love this trend because it is so basic and easy and they are so cozy!!
